The core Workshop curriculum strives to cover a broad representation of topics important for a specific area of the life sciences (e.g. genomics, molecular evolution, population genomics). However, certain topics require more attention and time to properly benefit from the Workshop experience. Examples of these topics include programming, the use of R and Bioconductor for phylogenetic or genomic analysis, the use of web frameworks such as Galaxy, and cloud computing applications. While each of these topics is introduced throughout the core Workshop, we believe an isolated and immersive 3-5 day training period would be of great interest to many participants hoping to expand their knowledge base.
